An opportunity to transform rehabilitation services
The DNRC Programme has, from the outset in 2010, envisaged construction of a Defence rehab establishment to treat injured serving members of the armed forces and the opportunity to create a civilian (‘National’) rehab facility close by on the Stanford Hall Rehabilitation Estate.
The Defence facility is now up and running. The civilian opportunity has been under consideration since 2016 and has now reached the stage where the designs have been done and planning permission is in place.
The ‘National Rehabilitation Centre’ (NRC) Programme is underway with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH) as the NHS sponsor of the work.
This year will see the development of an outline business case and subsequently the full business case.
To this end, a consultation and engagement process is now underway to seek views and feedback on the potential to change how rehabilitation services are delivered in the East Midlands NHS region.
Here you can read about ‘Transforming rehabilitation services’ and take part in the consultation.
Views are being sought by Friday 24 May.
