Planning proposals approved by Rushcliffe Borough Council
At a meeting of its Development Control Committee (13 June 2013), Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) resolved to grant planning permission (subject to signing a Section 106 Agreement) for the redevelopment of the Stanford Hall estate as the potential site for the DNRC. Committee members voted unanimously to approve the application which was recommended for approval by planning officers. The Section 106 Agreement was signed on 11 October 2013.
This means that an important milestone has been met in achieving the Duke of Westminster’s initiative to create a 21st century facility for clinical rehabilitation of the armed forces and the potential to create a significant new rehabilitation facility for civilian patients too. The final decision to proceed rests with the Government and is likely to be made in early 2014.
